So today was the longly awaited day. The day that for the last 5 and a half months I was hoping and praying I would make it to. Well it came and God was definitely awesome. I really wanted to run today, and God granted me that wish. I made it through my run all the way to the pier and my foot did not give me any pain. Seriously...God was working because that was supernatural strength. There's this sort of relief that washed over me as I entered those final steps. Knowing that I've finished this ... One of the best days yet. I had the chance to tell 1st graders at a local public school about my trek. I love hearing their reactions and questions. They are completely priceless. And best news yet of the day was reuniting with my mom and sister! They made it out to Cali and it is so wonderful to be in their presence again. Tomorrow is the day everyone and myself included have been waiting for. Yippeeee! Pacific Ocean here I come!

I heard this version of 2 Corinthians 6:10 the other day and thought it was just plain fantastic. "Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing and yet we have EVERYTHING!" This should be the heart of a person who puts their faith and trust in Jesus. No matter what their physical burdens and circumstances...they always have all that they need in Jesus. I needed to hear that verse because I just started reading a book called "Childre... My mom and sister have hit the road and are finally on their way to see me and take me home. They've had safe travels all the way to Louisiana today and will continue their travels tomorrow. I'm soooo excited to see them! Today was a good day. I got to run a bit again and my foot is taking it well...so that's great. Church was great to. Aparently this was the Sunday that all of this churches missionaries were around, so I got to hear some awesome stories. It's always great to hear stories from m... Read Full Post »

It was a pretty cold morning here in southern Cali. I was expecting to sun to make his appearance at some point...but he never granted me that wish. Bummer. Good thing working hard to pedal up those hills warms you up a bit. I was blessed to have the accompanyment of Peggy once again. I honestly don't know what I would do without her. The streets are so confusing out here and you need someone who knows their way around guiding you. I made it to my destination and got to crash someones graduation... Read Full Post »

Another relaxing day. I had another attempt at running today. Went about 3 miles and my foot still didn't hurt. I am very happy about that. I got to visit the Taylor Guitar factory today and get a tour on how they make their guitars. I had the opportunity to learn everything I ever wanted to know about making guitars and probably everything I didn't want to know. It was a 2 hour tour. Other than that my day was pretty uneventful. I didn't bike today in honor of my stalling technique and wonderfu... Read Full Post »

Today was a pretty relaxing day...I'm kind of enjoying this whole stalling to get to San Diego thing. I travelled only about 8 miles on the bike today. So a fairly easy day I would say. I got to spend most of the day resting, doing crosswords, and reading. Oh and I did attempt to go for a short run today. It went well, absolutely no foot pain. I really REALLY want to run my last day. And I do think it's possible. But I will try not to get my hopes up too high. I have just been exceptionally bles... Read Full Post »

San Diego is seriously right there...in numbers it is only 6 miles away from my location at the moment. The hardest thing is being patient and not finishing just yet. I actually could have finished today. For those of you who do not know, the reason I am stalling finishing just yet is that my mother and sister are driving out from Florida to see me finish. BUT...they won't be here untill next tuesday. So instead of going directly to the coast I will be taking a bit of a detour to some surroundin... Read Full Post »

Wow...another day complete. And yet God is so faithful. Weirdest thing ever happened this morning. When I woke up this morning, there was this wet stuff falling from the sky. The people here call it rain. I feel like I may have experienced it before...but it must have been in another lifetime. Well the wind sure was blowing too and the temperature? In the low 40's. Ummmm...freezing! It did warm up quickley though and dry up too. Most of my ride today was downhill with just a few climbs. I passed... Read Full Post »

The mountain has been conquered! Praise the Lord! From the advice I've gotten...it's really all downhill from here till the end. I had wonderful company today on my ride and it was definitely an encouragement to have someone there to pick me up whenever I started to get tired. I did have one flat tire that came somewhat unexpectedly. I was peddling and wondering why it was so hard. Yeah...that tends to happen when there is no air in your tires. But...we had some roadside assistence from a police... Read Full Post »
